Autodesk User Group Japan does College!
Our AUGI Japan Country Chapter, AUG-JP, held their annual training event known as Autodesk College 2005 recently. September 22nd, 2005 was the date and the training classes, sharing, and networking were all top notch, highest quality! I was honored to be invited to speak to the attendees and share in their event!
Even though I spoke almost no Japanese, I attended two classes and enjoyed them thoroughly. The instructors were very well prepared and enthusiastic.
We all know that the code editor is the great equalizer, since the vba code was only commented in Japanese, I was able to participate and follow along fully in that class.
Some of the classes were lab classes where the students were able to follow along and apply their new found knowledge in a hands on manner. This is a snapshot of the VBA class that I attended.
The other class I attended was an exploration and demonstration in the use of Dynamic Blocks. Demonstrating advanced techniques in assembling detail drawings using dynamic blocks, there was also a demonstration of using Microsoft Excel, VBA, and AutoCAD scripting language to define whole libraries of dynamic blocks in a fraction of the time generally required to create them. It was very well received!
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and wish to extend special thanks to the entire AUG-JP Board of Directors, Autodesk Japan, and all the new friends I made during my short stay. I hope to visit this beautiful country again soon!
Arigatou gozaimashita!
