Workaround for AutoCAD Map 3D 2008 bug

I just got Map 3D 2008 installed a few weeks ago and was playing around with the features that were new to me and discovered a 'bug'. If you click on View Scale>Custom in the status bar when the Task Pane is not docked, the resulting dialog displays halfway off the screen. I've posted some workarounds in this AUGI Forum thread.
