Mozilla releases Firefox 3 Release Candidate 1
12 days ago (2008-05-16) Mozilla released Firefox 3 RC1, since then Mozilla have confirmed there will definitely be a 2nd Release Candidate (RC2), probably the first Friday of June (2008-06-06).
What's really needed now is for developers of Add-ons (Extensions & Themes) to work toward getting their add-ons updated for Firefox 3. A number of people are currently holding off upgrading to Firefox 3 due to their favourite (must have) add-ons not being compatible (which is totally understandable); but if you do not fall into that boat ie Your favourite add-ons have been updated to work with Firefox 3, I highly recommend you take the plunge and upgrade your installation of Firefox to version 3 RC1. I do not think you will be disappointed.
Below is a list of add-ons I personally use and their status with regards Firefox 3 RC1:
- All-in-One Sidebar - Not compatible
- ColorZilla - Compatible via developers web site
- CoLT - Compatible
