BLAUGI receives a new layout via tweaking its CSS file
If you are not reading this in a web browser window you may wish to do so, as doing so will allow you to fully see the layout changes that have been made to http://www.blaugi.com/
Late last month (July 2008) we decided to make a few layout (appearance) changes to BLAUGI.
- Gone are the smooth, round corners that appeared 9 months ago (BLAUGI finally goes round the bend), in their place reappear clean straight lines and square corners.
- The existing horizontal CSS tab menu bar (BLAUGI gets a nice new horizontal CSS menu) running along the bottom of the banner area has been updated to better align itself with the ‘clean straight line’ look and feel.
- The 3 column fixed width (1000 pixels) layout remains, but has been reordered and cleaned-up somewhat.
- Old layout: left column; content column; right column.
- New layout: content column (50 pixels wider than previous content column); left column; right column. Both left and right columns are now the same width.
- Content found in the left and right columns has been de-cluttered a little and rearranged.
- Overall banner area height has been reduced, resulting in more content viewable above the fold-line.
BLAUGI Search
- BLAUGI “Google Custom Search” box has been moved from its previous position in the left column (Old layout) to the top right-hand corner of the banner area.
- Added OpenSearch to BLAUGI, thus allowing BLAUGI “Google Custom Search” to be added to a web browser's search box. The below couple of screen captures should help makes things a little clearer.
Firefox 3
Internet Explorer 7
