Are you paying close attention?
There is a saying in the United States that it is possible to “...not see the forest for the trees”. This is an easy thing to do. It can happen to anyone at anytime. Frequently it will strike you when you are consumed with paying so much attention to something that you begin to overlook the obvious. It usually happens when you look for certain behaviours that you “expect”. The harder you look for these things the easier it is to overlook something that should shock or surprise you. This can happen in any activity, any past time, and in virtually any situation. Take this test to see if you are really aware of what is going on right in front of your eyes.
Every once in a while, it pays to take a step back, defocus your eyes, and relax. Then revisit your programs, hobbies, and work with a renewed vigor, an open mind, and a wary eye. You just might find a moon walking bear...
