AUGI Announces President Elect for 2011

The Autodesk User Group International (AUGI) Board of Directors has formally elected David Harrington as President for 2011.

Historically the President has been chosen and elected at the transition from one Board to the next, after annual elections and installation of new Directors. By formalizing the 2011 President prior to the end of year activities, the organization will undergo much less loss of momentum on its programs and activities.

David first began involvement with the organization when it was previously known as the North American Autodesk User Group in 1995. He was first elected to serve as the Local User Group (LUG) Representative and in that role was influential in the updating of the LUG Starter and Maintenance Kit as well as the catalyst in the creation of AUGI’s first publication,  PaperSpace. Later he would serve as the A/E/C Industry Group Chair, as well as AUGI President in 1999. David has stayed involved in the organization over the years primarily in the publications arena, but returned to the board in 2010 to aid in the strengthening and expansion of all AUGI programs.

Together, Mark Kiker, current AUGI President, and David Harrington, will be completing the 2011 strategic plan prior to the end of the transition.

David will begin serving as President on January 1, 2011.

Mark Kiker will continue serving as President through the end of 2010.
